Perception
Perception is "understanding or knowledge". The perception by others and of yourself is important. Value judgements are made long before anything is said, leaving a huge emphasis on the visual "understanding" that a person may or may not have. A person's self confidence is always elevated when they are sure that they "look good".

First Impressions
A first impression is made within the first 5 seconds of meeting someone and 90 percent of that is based on appearance. It is with this knowledge that one should approach people upon making first impressions. Although in large this is related to the clothing you wear, it also includes grooming, jewelry and persona.

Persona
Persona is the outer personality presented to others by an individual. Many times people feel that they are "selling out" when it comes to dressing appropriately because they don't feel that they are showing their true selves. This feeling can manifest itself as personality discomfort. The solution is simple. Understand that dressing suitably for "x, y, z" occassion is being true to yourself. Each incident in which you dress for requires a different persona.

For example, if dressing for a funeral, the role would be one of mourning. Although, if you were dressing for an art show, then you would be inclined to wear more creative clothing showing your artistic persona.

Remember, when you put on your clothing, put on the right persona.
